RyPac13's Story

My name is Ryan and I am a part time husng player. In January 2007, a friend transferred me $150 dollars to play with. I quickly dropped over a third of it in the $5 regular speed husngs on PokerStars. Since then I have worked my way up without redepositing into the "high" page on Stars, regularly beating the $110+5 level and playing as high as $550+20.

Croixdawg's Story

Like many, I started the game just playing home games with friends. When I began college, some my friends started playing online. I followed suit and deposited over $1,500 online before I started winning, mainly playing $20-50 9 man sngs. I discovered heads-up poker and finally found something at which I was consistent. By sophomore year I had built a $100,000 bankroll, but was playing $5,000 matches, not following roll management and nearly went busto. I decided to take poker more seriously and grinded up from the $100 husngs into what I play today, $500-1000 level games. To this day I very rarely play higher than $1000 online based on the discipline I learned years ago. I also play up to 25-50 live cash and I play up to 10k buy-in MTTs. My live tournament winnings total over $900,000 and can be found here: My husng winnings from 2008: 4,575 $42 $522 8% $190,396

xSCWx's Story

I've been playing poker semi-professionally for 3 years (I'm a student). I started playing live poker and 5-max on Pacific then switched to stars and FTP after Pacific booted Americans. I played 6-max cash for a bit then switched to HU in September. I moved up fairly quickly into the $100s and $200s and happily grinded those for a while. I currently multitable the $330s - $1100s as my main games and play everything up through the $5500s.

PrimordialAA

PrimordialAA's Story

Bryan started playing poker in 2003. He busted several small deposits before finally hitting a small MTT payday for about $800. He has never deposited since. Bryan has played multitable tournaments, various sit n go's and no limit ring games. In the summer of 2007 he stumbled upon the two plus two heads up forum. There he found a coach and with a staking deal he began to move up the heads up sng ladder. Of course, he eventually played out the staking deal and is now reaping the benefits of hard work. Bryan would tell you that he's had many ups and downs in his career, but they have made him the strong player that he is today. At the present time he plays $200-500 level heads up sngs on PokerStars under the alias "PrimordialAA."

My name is Paul and I've been playing poker for 6 years, two of those full-time. Before playing poker for a living I was a teacher in international schools, working in the largest IB school in the world as the head of middle school English. I started poker by depositing $50 and that has since grown into over 100k, most of which has come from medium buyin hu sng's

Fydor_8

Fydor_8's Story

My name is Mike – known as fydor_8 on FTP. I’ve been playing poker for about 3 years now. I began playing on another website (before making the move to FTP), where I sold 10 million play chips in exchange for 20$ and took a shot playing some cash games. I’ve never looked back and have never deposited any of my own money on any other website since. I started playing HU SNGs shortly after moving to FTP and started with the 5$ buy-in level, slowly making my way up, beating each level over a decent sample. This is where I stand today, playing the 220$ turbos on FTP. I feel that I’ve gained a lot of experience and knowledge through the various levels and I feel that this unique trait allows me to relate to any player who aspires to move up through the levels as I once did.
